In the world of perfumery, the annual Fragrance Awards serve as a beacon of recognition for outstanding fragrances that blend artistic merit with product performance. This year, an esteemed panel of industry experts, including Alice de Parcq, Clemence Pelle, Nicola Bonn, and Suzy Nightingale, gathered to judge a diverse array of entries.

One of the standout winners was Byredo's Blanche, described by judge and fragrance writer Suzy Nightingale as "very easy to wear and incredibly chic in design and scent." The award for Best Eau de Parfum went to this elegant fragrance, which offers a delicate blend of jasmine, rose, and sandalwood.

Prada Paradoxe, a floral amber scent that is refillable and designed to last, won the award for Best Designer Fragrance - Women's. Choosing a refill instead of two separate bottles not only saves resources like glass, metals, plastic, and cardboard, but also allows consumers to enjoy the timeless scent of Paradoxe for longer.

Another notable winner was Guerlain's Shalimar, which took home the award for Best Vintage Fragrance. Alice de Parcq described Shalimar as a masterclass in showing how to do things right, while Judge and perfume expert Nicola Bonn declared it an original statement of a scent that lasts and lasts. The vanilla and powder scent, inspired by the love story between an emperor and an Indian princess, is equal parts soft and sensual.

CK One, one of the most iconic and enduring fragrances of all time, won the award for Most Nostalgic Fragrance. With notes of citrus, green tea, bergamot, rose, violet, and musk and amber, this unisex scent brings back memories of the late 90s, according to judge Alice de Parcq, who described it as smelling like all the mistakes and memories made in the late 90s, glorious and iconic!

The Diptyque collection, featuring intricately designed glass vials aiming to evoke the treasures of nature, won the award for Best Fragrance Collection. Standout scents include coral, mother of pearl, bark, water lily, and desert rose crystals.

Marks & Spencer's Discover White Coconut Eau de Toilette was awarded Best Purse-Friendly Fragrance, while Bulgari's The Allegra won Best Fragrance Bottle.

In the men's fragrance category, Calvin Klein's CK One won the award for Best Classic Men's Fragrance, and Brioni's Brioni won Best Designer Fragrance - Men's. The winning scent, Brioni's Brioni, is a wood-spice scent with notes of aqueous, ozonic, green apple, violet, ambroxan, cedar, musk, and tonka bean.

Tom Ford's Bois Pacifique Eau de Parfum won the award for Best Classic Men's Fragrance, while Ormonde Jayne's Ormonde Woman won Best Classic Women's Fragrance. The winner of Best Women's Luxury fragrance delivers a heady dose in just one spritz, developing into one of the most complex and confounding floral scents with notes of sambac jasmine, osmanthus, and rose.

Mind Games' Mentor won the award for Best Eau de Extrait, with judge and host of the Outspoken Beauty Podcast, Nicola Bonn, describing it as "modern vanilla", with notes of creamy orris, slightly sour apple, and tonka bean, sandalwood, and oud.

Lastly, Kylie Cosmetics' Cosmic by Kylie Jenner won Best Highstreet Fragrance. This innovative design and potent scent, opening with star jasmine and bloor orange and developing into notes of golden amber, red peony, vanilla, crisp musk, and cedarwood, is sure to captivate fragrance enthusiasts everywhere.

The Fragrance Awards serve as a testament to the artistry and innovation in the fragrance industry, providing consumers with a guide to the best scents of the year. Winning entries gain industry recognition and sometimes trophies or other promotional benefits, ensuring that perfume awards reflect both artistic merit and product performance, supporting quality and innovation in fragrance development.
