Top Innovative Design Concepts Inspired by WOW!house 2025 - Favorite Progressive Design Elements from This Year's Spaces

Step into the Chelsea Harbour Design Centre right now, and you'll be greeted by the grandeur of a magnificent Georgian townhouse, consummately situated within the striking entrance hall of this renowned London design institution. Step into this year's WOW!house - a yearly showcase of creative interior design, masterminded by the finest international designers, shining a spotlight on extraordinary brands and groundbreaking concepts. Let's face it, this year's WOW!house has upped the ante, and it's more captivating than ever before.

No longer just a pretty facade, the grand entrance has been expanded, and this year sees no less than 22 rooms, serving up a myriad of stylistic inspirations. While the designs span the spectrum, from classical to contemporary, behind every room stands a world-class designer, each pushing boundaries in pursuit of fresh, groundbreaking ideas.

These aren't the boring, wealthy properties we're used to peering into from the outside. Instead, they represent designs that have strayed from the safety of comforting familiarity and instead explored uncharted territory. As Kelly Hoppen, one of the masterminds behind this year's WOW!house, puts it: "This space was pretty much designed in an hour," she says. "Not having a client is a joy because you're designing everything you want to do for yourself," she adds, comparing the process to an artist allowed to paint freely.

So, get ready to be blown away by some of the best interior designers in the world, unleashed and liberated from the constraints of client needs. Here are our favorites from WOW!house 2025:

The Media Room's Powerful Tech Integration

Interior designer Alex Dauley's media room is a triumph of technology, thanks to her collaboration with room sponsor Nucleus. The real standout feature? A simple touch of a button unveils a hidden bar concealed behind an artwork, while another artwork camouflages a speaker using a textile that lets sound pass through. This isn't just a high-tech space for movie nights; it's an unapologetic celebration of tech that supports design.

Of course, it's not just the tech that's noteworthy. The main seating, a Julian Chichester sofa upholstered in plush, rich terracotta velvet, lends visual appeal, leaving you longing to sink into it for a night of cinematic adventure.

The Study Swathed in Bold Patterns

Small but mighty: Enter Staffan Tollgård's home office design and feel the power of his bold use of a geometric pattern handcrafted from wood veneers, known as Modern Muse from Philips Jeffries. The walls practically embrace you, while the Bean desk by Ceccotti Collezioni is not just pleasing to the eye but comfortable to navigate.

Staffan's advice to homeowners? Don't be afraid to use a strong graphic pattern on all four walls. The small space in the WOW!house proves it can be done well, demonstrating that sometimes, going big can produce a big impact.

The Art Deco Bathroom's Stunning 'Champagne Ledge'

With the Art Deco design style celebrating its centenary, we've seen plenty of it lately. But Laura Hammett's Art Deco bathroom design? That's something special. She elevated the geometric motifs of Art Deco and incorporated them into the bathroom architecture, integrating them into the mirror and custom vanity. A charming 'champagne ledge' on the vanity adds unique functionality, making this bathroom not just beautiful but practical as well.

The Curator's Room: A Mash-Up of Influences

Designer Brigitta Spinocchia Freund's curator's room felt like a breath of fresh air at WOW!house. Fusing fashion, art, textile designers, sculptors, this room stands as a perfect example of the importance of cross-medium collaboration. Whether it's the colorful Indigenous-inspired wall panels or the Roksanda-designed ceiling, each element tells a compelling story.

The room is an ideal representation of today's leading designers, blending their various influences to create something that is, quite simply, outstanding.

The Lighting Moods of This Incredible Bathroom

The 1508 London-designed bathroom is striking, but it truly shines when the lights are dimmed. Designer Paris Albert walked us through the various lighting moods at the touch of a button, with 'Reflection' transforming the bathroom into a serene oasis, 'Ritual' subtly illuminating the space for cleansing, and 'Reverie' conjuring a mystical, culturally-rich atmosphere perfect for unwinding and contemplating the world.

With something for every moment of your day, this sophisticated bathroom proves that smart lighting can enhance and elevate design.

The Joyful Dining Room's Exuberant Use of Color

Feeling gloomy? This joyful dining room will instantly lift your spirits. Designed by Peter Mikic, the room dazzles with a drenching of vibrant yellow hues, harking back to the golden age of Hollywood. Peter's clever use of Australian influences is evident in the hand-painted Indigenous art-inspired wall panels and the mural by artist Billy Metcalfe, which tells a story of Peter's immigration to Australia.

The combination of comfort and energy in this space is unparalleled, providing the perfect backdrop for a dinner party you'll never want to end.
