On September 19, 2025, USM and design studio Loveisenough unveiled an immersive installation named 'The Room You Carry' at their North America headquarters located at 28-30 Greene Street, New York, NY 10013.

This exhibition, set to remain open to the public until the end of 2025, is a tribute to USM's roots in Switzerland, specifically in the town of Münsingen. Loren Daye, the founder of Loveisenough, collaborated with USM, rooted in an appreciation for the brand's ethos of 'restraint and repetition'.

'The Room You Carry' serves as an invitation to consider how we carry our sense of home while traveling. The installation interrogates the boundaries between urban and rural, and interior and exterior. Magnetic, hand-carved wooden accessories made from reclaimed timber beams serve as tactile embellishments in the installation, while the USM Haller system is reimagined as tent-like structures with canvas roofs, paravents, and casegoods made from raw steel, glass, and chrome.

The styling of the space will evolve over time to reflect the transient life of its fictional nomadic inhabitant. 3D modelling by Path enabled new and unexpected applications of USM's modular language. Wildlife photographer and outdoorsman Jamie Kennard contributes audio and video projections that bring the rhythms of the wilderness indoors, further blurring the lines between interior and exterior.

Loveisenough, with a base in the Catskills, has incorporated elements in the installation that recall the natural environment of the region. Loren Daye, who has lived off-grid, has approached the USM Haller system as an architectural material, creating a unique and immersive experience that explores themes of shelter, interiority, and nomadic living.

Jon Thorson, the CEO and Brand Experience Director of USM North America, expressed his excitement about the collaboration, stating that 'The Room You Carry' is a conceptual exploration that pushes the boundaries of what is possible with USM's modular system. Visitors are encouraged to engage with the installation and reflect on their own sense of home and the interplay between mobility and permanence.
