Traveline Scotland Launches Enhanced Service for Sustainable Travel
Traveline Scotland has unveiled the first in a series of enhancements aimed at promoting sustainable public transport use. The service, developed jointly with transport operators, Transport Scotland, and Traveline Scotland, is funded by the Scottish Government and aligns with its Programme for Government 2024-25 commitments.
The improvements, funded by Transport Scotland, provide comprehensive information on all public transport modes, including cycle schemes. Users can now access details on available tickets and total journey costs. The refreshed journey planner offers timetables, next departures, and real-time travel updates.
The new Traveline Scotland website and app, launched by Transform Scotland, simplifies journey planning across various public transport modes. Users can tailor search results based on quickest route, fewest changes, step-free access, or lowest carbon footprint, making it easier for everyone to choose sustainable travel options.
Cabinet Secretary for Transport Fiona Hyslop commended the improvements, noting the additional information will aid users in making informed decisions. These enhancements align with the National Transport Strategy, making transport more accessible, affordable, and available for all, encouraging more people to take climate action.
