Summer Opening Festival Kicks Off 'Open Air in the Moat' in Neustadt an der Donau
Get ready for an exciting summer event in Neustadt an der Donau! The Summer Opening Festival will officially launch the 'Open Air in the Moat' event on July 31st, 2025. This family-friendly festival, designed for children and young people, will take place from 5 PM and continue until midnight.
For those arriving by car, free parking is available at the Volksfestplatz. There are two entrances: at the Regensburg Street (ticket control only) and at the Volksfestplatz (ticket control and evening box office). Advance tickets for the Summer Opening Festival are €5, and evening box office tickets are €8, including one free drink.
The festival will feature activities like Cup-Pong, Spikeball, and a DJ lineup featuring Tommy Loco & John Taylor. The event area begins at the entrance to the city wall, clearly defining the area during event days.
On August 1st, 2025, the concert by "CubaBoarisch 2.0" will take place. This exciting performance will be led by Leo Meixner and Yinet Rojas Cardona and will start at 8 PM, with doors opening at 7 PM. The concert area and "Summer Lounge" are located in a separate, non-public area and are accessible only with a valid event ticket.
The "Summer Lounge" is an exclusive area with food and a relaxed atmosphere, accessible only to ticket holders. It will open at 6 PM and remain open until midnight, providing a perfect spot to unwind after a day of fun.
Please note that those under 16 must be accompanied by a guardian or have a written consent form ("Muttizettel") for the Summer Opening Festival. Pedestrians are asked to use the Max-Gugler-Straße as an alternative during the event days.
Access to the event area and passage over the city wall is not possible from 2 PM on all event days. The closing concert of 'Open Air in the Moat' on August 2nd, 2025, will feature Oimara, who started the year with his hit "Wackelkontakt". However, the performance by Oimara on August 2nd, 2025, is already sold out.
