Water Cannon Installation in Leonard-Eißnert-Park, Offenbach

In the heart of Offenbach, the Leonard-Eißnert-Park is set to undergo an exciting transformation with the construction of a new water spray field. This recreational space will offer a fun and refreshing water play area for both locals and visitors during warmer months.

The new water spray field will feature interactive water jets, splash pads, and fountain features, ensuring endless hours of entertainment for children and adults alike. Safety will be a top priority, with soft flooring to prevent injuries, drainage systems to ensure water safety, and possibly lifeguard stations. The facility will also be designed to be accessible for people with disabilities, with pathways and seating areas for all users.

Shade structures such as gazebos or canopies will provide protection from direct sunlight, while additional play structures like swings or climbing frames may be included adjacent to the water area. The park's natural beauty will be preserved through beautifully landscaped gardens featuring native plants and trees. Strategically placed lighting will ensure safety and ambiance during evening hours.

Environmental considerations have not been overlooked. The system could incorporate water recycling and efficient irrigation systems to minimize water waste, while lighting and mechanical systems might be designed with energy efficiency in mind.

The construction process is expected to span from several months to over a year, depending on the size of the project, weather conditions, and the complexity of the design. The city council will make the final decision on the project on March 20, and if approved, the water spray field could be available for Offenbach families this summer.

Residents can stay updated on the project's progress by subscribing to the city's free newsletter. The work for the new water spray field will be carried out by the city's own operation (ESO) in cooperation with the Planning and Building Authority.

As the old water play area is demolished, the existing concrete sculptures will be retained and integrated into the redesigned surroundings of the new lawn area. The filter technology in the kiosk will no longer be necessary with the new solution, allowing bike racks to be retained. Additionally, the originally planned infiltration of water into the forest is no longer necessary due to the optimized use in the new facility.

The Leonard-Eißnert-Park has been a popular leisure and recreation area for Offenbach residents since the 1960s. Parallel to the new construction, the old water play area will be demolished. For more detailed information or specific questions, please contact the city council.

In this ambitious renovation, residents can look forward to embracing an outdoor-living lifestyle with the addition of a new home-and-garden section in the Leonard-Eißnert-Park. During their free time, they can enjoy scenic green spaces filled with native plants and trees, while children play on the interactive water jets, splash pads, and fountain features, creating lasting memories and fostering a sense of community.
